» Top 10 topics to avoid when dating a Silver Fox
(See below)

  01. Tech-talk -- Some Silver Foxes who never owned a dial tone phone are now emailing the joke of the day to their friends but go easy on them! If you are a soviet scientist or experienced PC user, avoid cryptic computer jargon. It can be a big obstacle. For many Silver Foxes, you might as well be speaking Chinese! Face it, some old boys like things the old fashioned way for one simple reason: They usually work!

  02. Attire -- Younger people seem to worry constantly about their looks and fashion trends. Silver Foxes usually aren't bothered about impressing anyone. If a Silver Fox likes to wear khakis and plaid shirts, LET HIM! Especially the retired ones who want to be comfortable. Don't try to impose your tastes; many Silver Foxes are more concerned about comfort than image.

  03. Ex-Boyfriends -- Everyone's had a life before they meet Mr. Right. Some men, however, make a point of talking about their ex's to everyone! Unfortunately, yesterday's loves can become an uncomfortable topic of conversation for a new acquaitance. If you really want to know the Silver Fox you're dating, don't bring up John, Jack, Ed, Mike, Ken and Higgins or you might not see current prospect again.

  04. Luggage -- It's the stuff we carry from other relationships. Many people are more into tomorrow and today than into yesterday. Mention only what's really honest and important. Be positive and put your pains aside. The first impression that you make on anyone is critical. Leave your luggage at home. Or better yet, get rid of it.

  05. Computer games -- So many of you thirty-somethings believe that the Nintendo is the greatest invention besides hot pockets, huh? While computer games provide a lot of fun for some of you, they do NOT make a great topic of conversation when dating a Silver Fox. Older guys like to feel that the younger person enjoys adult past times. Books make a better conversation than games. Read one!

  06. "Opera is for nerds"-- Fine, you are very proud of your pristine vinyl collection of The Beatles or Madonna. Silver Foxes, however, are generally into mellower music, possibly including opera and classical music. My advice? Get a "Classical Music for Dummies" cd and shine on your next date!

  07. Napoleon complex -- It is positive to have defined goals, an outgoing personality and to be able to express yourself with a few words. A lot of men believe that they always have to get their way because they're younger or good looking. If you like the Silver Fox you're about to date, be flexible, and don't try to have the last word always. You'll look smart instead of annoying.

  08. Me, me, me -- Similar to the Napoleon complex but WORSE, these types ALWAYS have to tell stories that revolve around them only. When dating a Silver Fox show interest by asking them things that are not too personal or trivial. Do not talk about all your wonderful clothes, grand job, nice wheels or the Simpsons if you want the Silver Fox to like you!

  09. Is that an Armani Shirt? -- I can't stress enough that Silver Foxes aren't generally into brands and labels. If you are a snappy dresser, you'll make a good impression. If you're all about brands, some people might think of you as a "label queen." That can be a put-off for some Silver Foxes who love Old Navy shirts.

  10. "I want to know everything about you" -- Guess what? Chances are good that you'll NEVER know everything there is to know about your man. If a Silver Fox wants you to know something, most likely he'll share it at the right time. Do not pressure people. Some folks find it difficult to share very personal things.
